Tašmajdan Sports and Recreation Center

Tašmajdan Sports and Recreation Center is a sporting and recreational complex situated in the city of Belgrade, Serbia, which was founded by the Assembly of the City of Belgrade in 1958. In recent years, the stadium has shown very visible signs of aging.〔(‘TAŠ' UNIŠTEN!, ''Press'', April 10, 2004 )〕 This led to many public personalities in Belgrade urging the municipal government to do something about it. In mid-April 2009, the initiative called "Taš je naš" (Taš is ours) was held to draw public attention to the sad state of the crumbling facility.〔(Akcija "Taš je naš" - vratimo mu stari sjaj, MTS Mondo, April 5, 2009 )〕 Tašmajdan hosted 1st FINA World Aquatics Championships in 1973.
